Postgraduate in:
Aimed at people who want to become professionals in creating, managing, selling and putting on events in the catering and events industry.
Knowledge is not enough.
We create professionals with a 360º vision of catering
Everything is connected.
In order to stimulate our audience and create a memory that lasts forever, we have to create, plan and produce in a strategic way. Whether a banquet, a catering event or a large-scale meal, it’s not just any meal. Preparing the final presentation for a catering event is different from a conventional restaurant, what is involved is something altogether different.
Banquet cooking has its own characteristics beyond those of the restaurant kitchen. Cooking for a large-scale event comes with its own set of rules regarding the requirements, logistics and execution; just in the same way as the costs and financial margins are different to those of a traditional restaurant.
A chef has to think differently, a maître has to think differently, and experience designers also have to act in a similar way to that of the food and beverage manager in a hotel.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Catering and Event Management is part of the Master’s degree in Restaurant Management and is designed for people wanting to create or manage an events or catering business.
The course focuses on the main aspects of events and gastronomy, providing students with the knowledge, skills, correct attitude and the chance to design and deliver strategic experiences that give customers added value.
The course lasts three months and includes a trip where real cases are studied. You will develop the skills to manage and run a catering business including all the facets involved: applied marketing, selling, logistics and cost engineering, preparing events, putting on and bringing to a successful close events.
By the end of the course, you will have gained experience of training methods such as Design Thinking, where you will be able to create, lead, manage and run large events in terms of strategy, operations and gastronomy.
